The people of the Ka:’yu:’k’t’h’/Che:k’tles7et’h’ First Nations have populated this stunning area of Kyuquot BC for thousands of years for many reasons. The area abounds in beauty, wildlife, natural sights and the ocean is teeming with bountiful amounts of all kinds of sea life. It’s no wonder this special area is home to 10 Ecological Reserves and Provincial Parks! Activities like fishing, wildlife viewing, scenic tours, kayaking and surfing are flourishing here and Kyuquot Sound is fast becoming known as a world wide adventure destination . Bring your your mountain bikes or ATVs and explore! Fair Harbour is pleased to announce that we will be introducing a new program for 2020 where we will be offering wildlife viewing tours, cultural exploration and fishing charters based right out of Fair Harbour. It’s never been easier to enjoy the remote, spectacular area of Kyuquot Sound.

FISHING CHARTERS
Whether you’re camping, staying in one of our rental cabins, or just driving in for the day, enjoy a great trip out to some of the best saltwater sport fishing BC has to offer. Kyuquot offers one of, if not THE most consistent fishery along the entire coast of BC, let alone Vancouver Island. Join us for a half day (5 hour) or full day (10 hours) on the water and experience the great Kyuquot fishery for chinook and coho salmon, halibut, lingcod and rockfish.
Fish out of our custom built, 23 ft Grady White boats with onboard washrooms, 300 HP Suzuki motors (and a 20 HP kicker) top of the line fishing gear and experienced, local guides who have fished this water their entire lives! Boats rates below are priced per boat and each boat can accommodate up to 3 guests.

FULL DAY (10 hours dock to dock): $1500 plus GST

WILDLIFE VIEWING/CULTURAL TOURS
The Kyuquot Sound area is rich in cultural traditions, history, abandoned village sites and is home to an amazing display of wildlife. Explore the area with a tour that can take you as far back as you can imagine.
Get dropped on a remote beach for a nice picnic lunch and walk the beach in search of glass balls, sea shells, and much more.
Go visit the ancient village site at Battle Bay and discover the history and how the bay was named! The old village site at Aktis Island holds many stories waiting to be told.
Check out a sea lion colony, perhaps see a bear strolling the shore, exposing rocks looking for food, see eagles soaring above in their natural habitat, maybe even sight a killer, grey or humpback whale! And don’t forget what Kyuquot is famous for, the lovable Sea Otter!
Visit a working fish farm, raising black cod in a sustainable way (not to be confused with a salmon farm), or visit an old Whaling Station site.
